We currently have full and part-time opportunities for the following:

Registered Nurse – Hemodialysis

The qualified candidate will possess a degree from an accredited nursing school, current, and appropriate state licensure as well as at least 18 months of recent hemodialysis experience. The selected individual must also have completed a theory and practice of hemodialysis training course, CPR certification and have met the requirements of Ishihara’s Color Blindness test. A minimum of one year of medical-surgical nursing experience is preferred.

The selected individual will provide safe and effective delivery of chronic hemodialysis therapy to patients in compliance with standards outlined in the company policy procedure manuals as well as regulations set forth by the company, state, and federal agencies. Responsibilities will also include assessing patient care needs every visit, participating in staff training and orientation of new staff as assigned, and all staff meetings as scheduled.

Licensed Vocational Nurses – Hemodialysis

The qualified candidate will possess a degree from an accredited nursing school, current, and appropriate state licensure as well as at least 18 months of recent hemodialysis experience. The selected individual must also have completed a theory and practice of hemodialysis training course, CPR certification and have met the requirements of Ishihara’s Color Blindness test. Renal Dietitian – Hemodialysis

To qualify, you must possess current licensure in good standing with the State of Texas, a minimum of 1 year of professional work experience in clinical nutrition as a registered dietitian, and proven leadership competencies and skills for the position, including the ability to teach, strong organizational skills, excellent communication, customer service, relationship development, results-orientation, team building, and decision making. Basic computer skills are a must; previous renal experience is preferred.

The selected individual will assess the patient’s knowledge of diet and kidney disease and provide education appropriate to the patient’s learning needs regarding the relationship between diet and kidney disease and the impact on the treatment process. Duties will also include providing patient-specific detailed education to patient/family/caregiver regarding nutritional status, adequacy measures and results, fluid status, and all nutrition-related lab parameters pertaining to their disease process as well as completion of nutritional assessment and participation in the interdisciplinary comprehensive assessments. Responsibilities will also include participating with the interdisciplinary team in the development of a written, individualized comprehensive plan of care that specifies the services necessary to address the patient’s needs, in accordance with established Federal and, where applicable, state licensure guidelines.

Medical Social Worker

To qualify, you must possess a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration in clinical practice from a school of Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Current state licensure or appropriate certification/registration by the state if required in order to practice or be called a Social Worker and 2 years of dialysis experience required. Demonstrated leadership competencies, excellent communication skills both verbal and written coupled with outstanding customer service acumen are essential. The individual we seek practices continuous quality improvement, has solid relationship development/team-building skills, and is results-oriented.

The selected individual will provide psychosocial services to patients utilizing the Social Work Theory of Human Behavior and accepted methods of social work practice. Responsibilities also include working with the health care team to promote positive adjustment, rehabilitation, and improved quality of life for our patients. In collaboration with our multidisciplinary team, you will inform, train, and support staff in understanding the emotional, psychological and behavioral impact of chronic kidney disease on the patient and family to ensure quality care of our patients.

Biomedical Helper
This is a full-time position and to qualify you must possess a high school, vocational diploma, or G.E.D. This individual would support Freedom At Home Dialysis’ mission, vision, core values, and customer service philosophy. This professional adheres to the Freedom At Home Dialysis Compliance Program, including following all regulatory and policy requirements. Under supervision, the candidate is responsible for the cleaning, maintenance, and minor repairs of all water systems, medical equipment, so as to ensure the safety of the patients as well as the staff operating the equipment. A Biomedical helper may perform day-to-day running of the dialysis machine including acid/heat disinfection activities and taking cultures. He or she may perform day-to-day running of the Reverse Osmosis machine, disinfection, and taking cultures. Perform supply inventories and supplies delivery to patient’s home. Assist the Chief Biomed and the Biomed Technician with installation. Biomedical Helpers are responsible for maintaining a clean work environment at all times. The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The position involves moderately active work including walking and standing for considerable lengths of time. Bending down to a lower level is required for some of the housekeeping duties. The position requires a considerable amount of physical work. There is a two-person assist program and equipment available for moving the heavier loads/equipment. The employee must regularly move boxes, drums, and equipment of up to 500 lbs. in weight. The use of dollies or other equipment is mandatory while moving items that weigh approximately 500 lbs. There may be some potential exposure to chemicals and infectious materials.

Experience and required skills

  • Continued employment contingent upon successful completion of the Freedom At Home
  • Dialysis Training Program for Technical Staff and the Technical Validation Program
  • Demonstrated leadership and training abilities
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to cover and transport equipment and supplies as needed
  • Employees have to meet the necessary requirements of Ishihara’s Color Blindness test as a condition of employment
