Freedom At Home Dialysis (FHD) stands as a beacon of hope for end-stage renal patients, offering an alternative to the confines of hospital dialysis treatment. Our journey began with a simple yet profound mission: to provide a lifeline for those who had been turned away from traditional in-center clinics.
In the realm of dialysis care, many patients found themselves trapped in a cycle of hospital stays, forced to compassionate dialysis treatment due to rejection by in-center facilities. FHD emerged as a specialized provider, focusing on delivering hemodialysis treatments to those deemed “non-admission” at conventional in-centers dialysis facilities. FHD introduced its “Staff Assisted” dialysis program, with licensed and experienced nurses by their side, patients could now receive the care they needed in the comfort of their own homes, assisted living or skilled nursing facilities.
Our primary goal has always been clear: to offer the safest and most cost-effective treatment options to those who constantly found themselves seeking dialysis in hospitals. We understand the physical, emotional, and financial toll that repeated hospital visits can take on individuals and their families. Through our innovative approach, we strive to break this cycle and empower our patients to reclaim control over their lives.
One of our proudest moments came in the form of a remarkable success story: the discharge of a patient from Charlton Methodist Hospital after an astonishing 1220 days – more than two years – hospital stay. With no dialysis center willing to accept this patient, FHD stepped in with our staff-assisted dialysis program, allowing them to finally discharge and resume life outside the hospital walls.
